Ginza Budonoki is a famous cafe in Ginza serving arguably some of the best dessert plates in the area.

Afternoon tea (¥3,780)

The cafe is notably very popular for afternoon tea.

They take orders for the afternoon tea sets from groups of 2 or more people exclusively. The sets come served to you on three stories of plates that include an amazing variety of desserts. You get two seasonal gelées, two seasonal small cakes, chocolate cake, cookies, scones and a seasonal sorbet. There is one savoury dish two: a piece of quiche.

The sets are ¥3,780 (taxes included) per person, and they even come with a welcome glass of sparkling wine. This is a fairly cheap price for this kind of afternoon set considering that many high-end cafes in Tokyo serve similar sets for about ¥5,000.

You also get to choose one hot drink as well (tea or coffee).

Dessert plates (around ¥2,000)

They have some irresistible high-end French-style desserts with their unique twist too. The Soufflé Caramel Salé pictured here is a popular choice.

Served to you freshly baked, the souffé cake has a lovely fragrance of caramel and is sprinkled with large crystals of Maldon salt that bring the perfect accent to the sweet caramel.

It also comes accompanied by two small side dishes of exquisite seasonal desserts. For an extra ¥540, you can add a coffee or tea to the plate.

In closing...

Ginza has an embarrassment of riches when it comes to high-end cafes, and this has got to be one of the most popular places, which says a lot about the quality you get! Why not give it a try for a special occasion?
