Original & Tasty Ghana Food Truck in Tokyo "Antaru Kitchen"
Food trucks have gained a lot of popularity overseas in recent years, but you might not see that many in Tokyo, as you need to know where to go to spot them! Antaru Kitchen Food Truck was a bit of a lucky find. Venture down to Kojimachi and grab some original Ghana grub!
Feel free to follow favy!
A food truck with plenty of character and charm!
Run by charming Ghana native, Orlando, Antaru Kitchen hits up Kojimachi nearly every day of the week. Serving up his favourite dishes while bopping along to some reggae-esque beats, local office workers in the area frequent his food truck on a regular basis.
Having lived in Tokyo for a number of years he's become somewhat of a famous face in the Kojimachi area and his local area Asagaya where he also runs a bricks-and-mortar cafe each night. He is a one-of-a-kind character that will make you smile, both with his food and his positive outlook!
Original Ghana Food
If you've never had Ghana food before make sure you try the beef or chicken on rice. They are both very tasty dishes and will get you hooked on the special sauces and spices! You can get everything for take-away. Prices range from 600 upwards depending on the size you want.
Chicken on rice. He wouldn't give me the recipe as he said it was a secret but this chicken dish is a stellar treat!
The beef is really tender and perfect to fill up an empty stomach. Make sure to ask for extra spice ;)
Kind of like a curry this tomato-base dish is definitely a good'en!
Where to find it?

Antaru Kitchen is usually parked on the corner of the street just past the Seven-Eleven Japan Headquarters. Check their Facebook page for the most current info or to get in touch!
Antaru Kitchen Cafe
Located in Asagaya and run most nights, you can always head here if you can't make it to Kojimachi and visit his food truck. More selection of meals and chilled-out atmosphere complete with live music if you're lucky!
